  • Emily Dickinson Birthday Tribute
     Folger Shakespeare Library
Given annually by poets from diverse backgrounds, this reading celebrates Dickinson's powerful and compelling influence on American poetry. Poets artfully combine readings of their own work with tributes to Dickinson. Emily Dickinson's work examined and celebrated life's quiet moments with a serious and critical eye. Hear Dickinson's legacy in Carolyn Forché's graceful and reflective poetry. Carolyn Forché is the author of Blue Hour, Against Forgetting: Twentieth Century Poetry of Witness and The Angel of History among others. For more information please call 202-544-7077.
